SALE OF LADIES' BLOUSES
SENSATIONAL BARGAINS AT THE MELBOURNE. We sometimes tell the "why" of a bargain—tell it in few words. For example, an English blouse manufacturer offered his complete range of spring and summer samples to our buyer at 'a discount of 25 per cent. Onr buyer declined, but a few days later made a sporting offer to take the lots at 38 1-3 per cent. off. We got them. Now you have he>rd a lot lately about 33 l-3rd discount; just see how it works out in this instance. Supposing, for the sake of argument, that the maker's price for a blouse was ss. This, less 33 1-3 per cent., brings the Home price down to 3s 4d. Now add to this our landing charges of 40 per cent., and the manufacturer's 5s blouse in England lands here in our store for Is Bd. After putting on our usual small working, profit we are thus able to sell at practically | what was the maker's original price to the wholesale. You will see that a "job" discount like this from a maker is quite a different "horse" from a "job" discount trom a warehouseman. W e tell you all this because we think there is no better way to advertise these ladies' blouses than to explain how we bought them. Common sense will show you that you are going to make a saving of 50 to 100 per cent. The lot comprises linens, striped and fancy crashes, dclain.es, hopsacks, silk muslins, Indian linens, voiles, all-ovjr white embroidered, etc., and all have collars. Many are trimmed with latest fancy buttons, and some have tucked fronts. Tin- new fishmouth sleeve and fancy ties and tassels are much in evidence. Prices are Is Od to 8s 6d. Sale is for seven days only.—Advt.
