At the Supre'jn Court to-day a young woman named Mary Ann Smith, who had ponded fvilty to a charge of making af.d-e di iVaration under the Marriage Act, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, tile Judge be'r.g of opinion that the declaration wag made without fraudulent intent. Four youths were variously sentenced from one to three months' imprison ment fo r what his Honor described as "a case of systematic raiding of private houses.' DIVORCE COURT. Wellington, Friday. Tn the Divorce Court decrees nisi were granted in the cases Leonard Sowman v. Catherine Sowmnn and Norman Harvey (co-respondent); Nora Ronton v. Robert Richard Rentnn (an inmate of Porirua Asylum); Albert Arthur Harris v. Hilda Harris and Thomas Gault (co. respondent): and Helena Elizabeth MeCiniiity v. Ernest Henry McGinnity (on the grounds of drunkenness' and cruelty).

DAMAGES FOR LIBEL. Christchurch. Last Night. Robert Grantham Money, at one time editor of (he journal Daylight, sued M. F. Burnett, proprietor of the paper, for t!inn for libel published in the journal after (he rivil case in which Money was awarded C4O salary in lieu of notice. In the evidence i( was stated that the article complained of was written Ivy Hubert Mitchell, the editor of the Star. Justice Denniston gave judgment for £75. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland. Last Night. Richard John Yeoman. 50 years of age, for indecently assaulting two little girls'.. "was sent to gaol for six years. Peter Alexander, who pleaded guilty to two charges of uttering, received a senten-e of two years.
