' In the Supreme Court, Justice Denniston refused an application by Joseph Smytho, agent, for an injunction restraining the l'arnpara Iron Ore Company from proceeding with the contracts for the sale of the company's property. The statement for the defence was ih.it the secretary of the company was absent from Cliristclmrch. that deponent had been kept fully cognisant of Hie proceedings of the company and to the best of his knowledge and belief no contract for the sale of whole or part of the property of the company had ever been before the directors nor had any such contract been discussed by them A pledge ivas given on behalf of tlie directors if agents were unpointed they would not grant power of attorney.
