THE STEAMER DUCO.
COURT'S DECISION ON THURSDAY. By TelegntDn.—Press Association. Wellington, Last. Night. The Magisterial inquiry oencerning the Wellington steamer Duco, which left Wellington on September 7th for the Chatham Islands, and was never beard of again, concluded to-day. The Rev. D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, gave evidence Unit viy tain Abram, of the Duco, had consulted bim as to the weather prospects. i«v. Bates warned Abram that baa weather ■was coining on, and advised the postponement of sailing for three days at least.
Captain Stringer, surveyor of ships, said that had he known the Duco nad ten tons of coal on deck he would not have let her go out. The Court will deliver judgment on Thursday.
