WANGANUI CONTESTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wauganui, Last Night. The Wanganui Boxing Association tournament was concluded on Saturday. The results of the semi-final were:— Novice, lightweight: Whaler(Taihape) beat Bullock (Wauganui), who was disqualified. Middleweight: Pcale (Bunuvthorpe) beat Ireland (Waipawa). Welter: Hogan (Wanganui) beat Williams (Kai Iwi), Tinner (Wellington) beat Johnston (Wanganui). The finals resulted:—Light-weight championship: Porter (Wellington) beat Clarke (Palmerston North). Bantam: Kutner (Wellington) beat Cook (Napier). Middle: Devitt beat Gealc, who went into the ring with both thumbs damaged. Welter: Hogan beat Turner, who was disqualified for fouling. •W. Wenand was declared to lie the most scientific boxer, and secured the special prize.
