ACCIDENT AT A QUARRY. liy Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, November 13. Three quarrymen at Calder's, NorthEast Valley, were injured by the premature explosion of a shot. William Boyes had a leg broken, Richard Halford sustained severe injury to his eyes, and James Medlin minor abrasions. The ■wonder is that, all were not killed, as fifty tons of stone were dislodged.

A SUDDEN DEATH. Wellington, Last Night. Joseph Hicks, chief mechanical engineer to the Wellington Harbor Board, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon, it is Supposed irom heart failure. Deceased was a past master of one of the Masonic lodges in the city.

PALL FROM A TRAMCAR, Dunedin, Last Night. A laborer named John Fimnerty, 19 years of age, met with a serious accident last night. He was on a tramcar between 7 and 8 o'colck, and when tihe car was near Albany Street his (hat blew off. Fianerty either jumped or fell off the car, and was picked up in an unconscious condition. He was taken to the hospital, but at 5 p.m. to-day was still unconscious.
