ASSEMBLY AT CiUiISTCUUKUi. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christcliurch, Last Night. The inaugural meeting of the IIKJSJ session of the General .\ssemblv of the Presbyterian Church of New' Kealaud was held in St. Andrew's Church tonight. There was a large attendance of ministers and elders. The retiring Moderator (Rev. James Chisholm) conducted the devotional exercises which preceded the formal constitution of the Assembly. Rev. Isaac Jolly, IM.A., Palmcrston, was proposed as Moderator and unanimously elected. The newModerator was introduced and installed by the retiring Moderator. The newlyelected Moderator then delivered an aildress to the assembly. Several committees,' were afterwards set up.
