COOKS' AND STEWARDS' AWARD. Wellington, Thursday. Judgment was given by Dr McArtbur to-day in the case in which the federated Cooks' and Stewards' Union claimed from the Union Steamship Company a penalty for a breach of the federated cooks' and stewards' award In the opinion of the Magistrate the mess room members of the providove department were not entitled to any overtime at bar harbor* and roadstead's unless employed on an excursion or on any holidays mentioned in the clause of 'the award. Judgment was given for the I defendant company. Notice of appeal was given.
