THE UNEMPLOYED.
MR. MILLAR'S ADVICE. By Telegra]h—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. A deputation of unemployed interviewed the Hon. J. A. Millar, Minister for Labor, to-day, requesting that work should be found for them. Mr. Millar re plied that farming work wan available in Southland, Otago. Taranaki. Hawke's Bay and Wnirarapa.
A deputationist answered that the unemployed were not used to farmimr work. b
The Minister advised the men to seek private employment, as the shortened expenditure on Public Works would reduce the Government's power to find work for unemployed. Answering one of the dcputntionlsts who remarked that men could not go into the country without money, Mr. Millar stated they could not be of the stamp of men who ma,l» the country.
