CRICKET.
NORTH TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. Hie annual general meeting ol live above Association was held last night, et which there were about twenty delegates and others present, Mr. W. C. Weston occupying the chair. The secretary presented a very favorable report and balance-sheet for the past season, and the election of the. following officers was then proceeded ] ■ with:—President, Mr. W. Bcwley; vie- j » presidents, to be nominated by the vari-1 oua clubs; lion, secretary, jit. a. ifewfey; Jion. treasurer, Mr. A. H. Steeds; championship committee, Messrs Whittle Perham, Williams and Clegg; selection committee, Messrs. Perham, Clegg and Dgglcstr.n: delegate to New Zealand Cricket Count-', Mr. Hardy; hon. auditor, Mr. H. S oeker; junior committee, Messrs. Each, Tribe and Gordon. It was recommended .that the committee circularise the Headmasters of the (various public schools, drawing their attention to the donation of a public Schools challenge shield, and asking them to form elubs to compete. It was also resolved that Mr. Whittle be re-elected to his seat on the cports Ground umittee, subject to the approval (f 'he said committee. ' It was) further resolved that rule 5 be amended to read as follows: "Championship matches' shall be commenced not later than 2.30 p.m., and shall be continued until 6 p.m. during the months of October and March, and until 0.30 p.m. during the other months of the season." ' The committee was asked t# tender a recommendation to the Sports Ground Committee that the net proceeds of one of the football cup matches be devoted to tlie preparation of the ground in view of each coming cricket season. Several other important recommendations were made to the committee to lie I dealt with before cup fixtures, commence. I: It was finally resolved that contribuI tion boxes be placed at the entrances to the Sports Ground, the proceeds to be devoted to the funds of the Cricket Association.
