The Prime Minister states that as an outcome of raising half a million in London for the Advances to Settlers Department, all the arrears of loan applications in tile hands of the Department 'have been overcome. There were nearly a 'thousand applications for loans nt the time he sent out the money, and the 1 ast, of them has just hern paid. More than one-third of the 11500,(HK) lias been paid to provide money to enable workers to build their own 'homes, 'while other sums went to settlers of the j country for the same purpose.
