ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MAN RUN OVER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Niglit. ' A single man named David Marr, aged about 51) years, waa the victim of a serious accident on the railway at Sawyer's Bay to-night. Alarr, who lives at Port Cluilmcrs, was proceeding home, and as the train started from .Sawyer's Bay station, .lie cither attempted to step off the oarriajjfc platform or fell off, with the result that he was run over, both thighs being badly crushed. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where it was' found necessary to amputate both legs above the knee.
