Mr. Sydney Buxton (Postmaster-Gen-eral) announced in the House of Comiijr>n = that the Post Office had bought the Marconi coast stations, except those at Poldhu and CI if den (which are for shore-to-sliore communication with America) for £15,000 (sic), including the etliergrapli improvements for the next 14 years. The Post Office had also purchased Lloyds' system of communication with ships. Lloyds wonlil receive the plant nnd the value of the stations anil would be entitled to information regarding the movements of ships. The Post. Office might use any eliiorgraph system, moreover, in war time, the two long-distance stations being included in the arrangement.
