CORRESPONDENCE.

RAILWAY DAIRYMEN.

To the Editor. Sir—t-'ome time ago it appeared in tin' papers that Government servant* were prohibited from engaging in the (.caching of iiinxk- or shorthand or any ether private occupation for which re-imiiK'i-iiliiiii was received. Such being tiic ease, I should like to ask why railway men arc allowed to engage in dairying and the sale of milk and butter and other produce, hi opposition to some of us who have to earn a hard, honest living by the sale of our dairy 'produce. The State pays good wages for an honest day's work, which should lie sufficient and should be given.—l am, etc., DAIRYMAN.
