MANGOREI DAIRY FACTORY.
ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the directors of the Mnngorei Co-operative Dairy Factory Company, to lie presented to the annual, meeting to be held on October 4th, states that the milk received shows a considerable increase over the previous year, and forms a record. The following table shows the comparison, the figures for 1008 being in parenthesis:— Milk received 15,450,049 lb (12,982,203 lb), butter-fat 005,007 lb (504,573 lb), butter made 093,085 lb (573,803 lb), over-run 14.52 per cent. (13.72 per cent.), lbs of milk to each lb of butter 22.28 (22.02), average test 3.91 (3.89), amount paid to suppliers £25,582 15s lOd ( £21,340 2s Id), rate per lb butter-fat 10.13 d (10.15 d). The sum of £224 0s 9d has) been paid by way of dividend at 5 per cent, on share capital, £337 9s 5d lias been written off for depreciation, and a balance of £7 18s has been brought forward. During the winter experiments have been carried on at the, factory with a view to eliminating feed flavors from the cream and butter by means of pasteurising, lite results have been thoroughly satisfactory, and it has been decided to permanently continue the work. Negotiations arc now pending with the Ilurwortli Dairy Company, which, if completed, will result in hie Hnrworth lactory being ran as a creamery of this company. The shareholders will be. required to elect two directors in place of Messrs. ■Marsh and Price, who retire in rotation, and are eligible for re-election. They will also be called on to elect an auditor. Mr. Davies again offers his services.
