A SMALL SURPLUS. By Cable—Press Association. —Copyrlgfl Received 23, 1 a.m. Melbourne, September 22. The State Treasurer delivered the Budget tonight. The revenue for the year ended June '.3 th was £8,105,400, and expenditure* £8,048,043, the surplus being £140,7(10. The railways' produced a surplus of £300,000, while in the general revenue was a deficit of £153,297. The estimated revenue for the current year is £8,427,050 and the expenditure " £8,421,298. There will be no increase in taxation, i but it is proposed under .the new Income I Tax Bill to provide for additional ieI venue during the next financial year.
