: GISBORNE SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Pres3 Association. Gisborne, Tuesday. At the Supreme Court to-day Rose Kerwin was tried on a charge of concealment of birth and acquitted. Gisborne, last Night. At the Gisborne Supreme Court today, George Manns, an elderly man, a native of Mauritus, was found guilty of xape.on a young girl of eight years and wag sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. Hapi Tama, a young Maori, pleaded guilty to forging and uttering and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. GREYMOUTIi SESSIONS. Greymouth, Tuesday. The first session of the Supreme Court held here opened to-day. Mr. Justice Denniston • presided. Edward W. Peppin, for theft from two hote's, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment Greymouth, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day Ah Ben, with assaulting a countryman and inflicting serious bodily harm, was found not guilty. Thi6 was ali the criminal business.
