ACCIDENT OX THE FOOTBALL FIELD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Friday. As the result of a kick received when playing the match Napier "Cadets v. (iisborne Cadets, a few days ago, U. Lang, aged 17, is lying in the hospital in a critical conditio*), an operation having disclosed & large clot of blood on his chest. YOUNG MAX SERIOUSLY INJURED. Wellington, Last Night. A young man named Clark, aged,, IU, formerly a railway porter at Peton?, mr»t with a serious accident this morning. lie was employed by a timber m-U 1 firm in the Upper Ilutt district and was, driving a waggon laden with three and a-half tons of timber from the mill to the Upper llutt station -when ho inadvertently dropped the reins. In endeavoring to pick them up he overbalanced and fell, one of the wheels passing over ids body. He was picked up and assistance rendered. Later on he was brougnt to the hospital.
