ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FOUND DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Duncdin, Last Night. The body of a man, whose name has not yei, been ascertained, was found ("i Tomahawk beach this afternoon. Deceased, who was apparently between DO and 70 3 ears of age, had, judging by the indications on the body, icon in the water about three days. Near the body was found a walking stick with the letters "H.D." carved on it. A Lcpperton resident named A. B. Waldie slipped and fell upon the pavement in Devon street on Saturday night, and broke his leg. He was taken to the hospital. On Saturday afternoon a well-known native named Ned Skipper fell out of his trap in Devon street near Mr. J. West's bakery, striking his head on the kerbstone. He was attended to by Dr. Walker.
Mr. Styles, of Finncrty road, Ngaire, had his leg broken on Wednesday. Ee was driving a wedge into a log, when it flew out, striking him with such force on the shin-bone as, to cause th* unfortunate accident.
■The Patea Press reports that a serious accident occurred at Rangitatu, in the Waitotara district, on Thursday morning, when a man named F. Boyle sustained a fracture of the thigh. Boyle was engaged felling a tree, which snapped off from the stump, striking him on the thigh. The injured man was taken to the Patea hospital, where he is doing reasonably well.
