TRAINS IN COLLISION.

SUPPOSED DEFECTIVE POINTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A sollision occurred at the Kaiapoi railway siation at 6 o'clock on Saturday evening u .ui- the south water tank. The express from Culverden, consisting of an [engine and nine vehicles, was standing ut the platform, when the train from Christchurch, instead of going on the loop-line at the points, came on to the main line, and 'ran into the standing 1 train, forcing it a distance of six yards, end damaging the cowcatcher. The iassengers were very much shaken, but tio one was seriously injured. After removing the cowcatcher from the express, and making a thorough examination of the two trains, the trains went on hnlf-n-hour late. The cause of the accident is supposed to have bean a stone getting into the points.
