JACK AND JILL. The announcement of the advent <f J. C\ Williamson's record pantomime in New Plymouth is sure to create widespread interest among theatre-goers of all ages. Not only is the pantomime itself said to . surpass every previou. achievement of this enterprising linn, in the grandeur of it 3 spectacular display, but the company presenting it is uumers- - and otherwise said to be the strongest combination that has ever visited Xew Zealand. The seasons in Christchurch, Auckland, aud Dunedm have even beaten the redoubtable "Mother Goose." Prominent among the list of artistes are Miss Stella (.las telle the popular English pantomime boy; Miss Betty Olils appears as Jill, ait i one cannot imagine a more dainty actress for the character; Miss Stella Selbourne, Miss Olga Grey, Miss Nance Maher and Miss Lena Ericson are among the ladies of the cast. Mr. J. M. Campbell and Mr. Fred Leslie are the leading comedians, and the humor of the piece could not be in more able hands. They, however, get valuable assistance in t'aeir merry-making from Messrs. Victor Lovdell, "(icorge Young. Rupert Darrell and Clyde Cook. Mr. Walter Stanton contributes the remarkable impersonation of a giant rooster, with which he made the ait of the London Lyceum pantomime last year. Messrs. Morris and Wilson appear in some of their clever animal impersonations, and other special novelties are too numerous to mention here. The ballets, marches, .ensembles, etc., are said to surpass anything previously seen in New Zealand. I the corps do ballet alone numbering 100 dancers. Box plans will be opened at the Colonial Piano Company's next Saturday morning. There will be a special matinee performance on Thursday afternoon at 1.45, when children will be admitted at half price to all parts of the house.
