WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. » Wellington, Wednesday, iln the Supreme Court to-day, Albert Charles Weingott, a young man, was charged with the theft of a. horse. He set up the plea that he was not responsible for his actions. It was stated th.it lie was the son of first cousins, and had been responsible for strange conduct at times but with n° criminal intent. The jury found him guilty and recommended him to mercy. .Sentence was deferred. Wellington, Last Night. I David Johnston, belonging to the crciv | of H.M.S. Challenger, was acquitted on a charge of indecently assaulting a girl. CHRISTCHURCJi SESSIONS. ' Christchurch, Last Night. At t'lic Supreme Court, Richard John Leslie Bromley was found not guilty of perjury in connection with an affiliation case. Alfred Ernest Albert Johnston was found not guilty of the theft' of certain tools valued at £4 2s. James Gill was found not guilty of a charge of having broken and entered the hut oi a railway cleaner at Methven. It was alleged that he had entered the hut .t another railway employee and present?d a loaded revolver at him. The defence was that accused was too drunk to effect an entrance through an 18in window or to load a revolver.
DUNEDIN SESSIONS. Dunedin, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day Frederick Charles Laley was convicted on a charge of wilfully setting fire to i dwelling-honse in Dundait street. Sentence was deferred. Frederick Matthews was found guilty on charges of breaking and entering and theft. Sentence was deferred.
