ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

Dunedin. Last Night. A man named Robert Lnwson, a steamboat fireman, who lias been living ashore for about a month and who had been drinking, attempted to commit suicide on Saturday afternoon by shooting himself with a pistol. Some friends heard the report of the shot and found Mm bleeding freely from a wound ill the cheek, lie was removed to the hospital. The bullet has not yet been extracted, but it is not expected that the wound will prove fatal.
BURNING FATALITY
Christchruch, Last Night.
Sarah Bennett,, nine years of age, who was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from burns accidentally received, died this morning as the result of the injuries.
