ARBOR DAY.

Cliristcliurch, Last Night. The majority of the town schools observed Arbor Day to-day, though indifferent weather interfered with arrangements which had been made. At the larger schools, the grounds had in previous years been planted with a maximum of trees consistent with safety and utility, but in.some eases additions were .made, There were no great assemblages of school children and school committeemen, but sufficient guarantees were oiyan that the trees provided would be flatted and given their chance. Tn some of the schools the lessons of the urrv'ous day had dealt with Arbor 1 Day, • ieanings and objects, and pupils ••!•'• 7 - iven some theoretical .instruction on, how to plant trees.
