THE PATTERSON BANKRUPTCY
SUPREME COURT PROCEEDINGS. By Telegraun.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. At tlio Supreme Court iu-uay, jo/n James Patterson, of Danncvirke, was indicted on the following charges of breaches of the Bankruptcy Act:—(l) That within throe years of the date of liis bankruptcy he failed to keep such books of accounts as to show progeny and sufficiently his business transactions and financial situation; (2) that he did not deliver to the deputy official assignee having charge of the estate nil the books, documents, papers and writings in his control relating to bis property and affairs; (3) that within two years of the commencement of his bankruptcy be mutilated a certain book relating to his affairs by removing certain pages from the said book; (4) that after the presentation of ids bankruptcy petition ho mutilated a certain book relating to his affairs.
Accused pleaded not guilty. It appeared he had practised as a solicitor and been interested in sawmills and a general store. Evidence for the prosecution had not concluded when the Court adjourned for the day.
