RIFLE SHOOTING.
TARATA. (From our own Correspondent). The Tarata Defence Rifle Club fired the second competition for Mr. Saundcr's trophy recently. Following were the scores:—
A rifle match will be fired between tenuis representing Taranaki Guards and Stratford Jtif'e Club 011 Thursday next. This match is looked upon almost, as a contest or tlie supremacy of Taranaki Stratford team U composed ill several noted shots, such as the brothers Speck, Madden and Thorpe, whilst the Guards are also a very solid lot, and have JM't suffered defeat for some lime, fo) lowing will represent tlie Guards: T.ieilt. Boon. Corporal lient, Privates Ridd'i'», Bruce, King, Grover Hill, and Blanclianl.
