Sir Joseph Ward arrived in Christchurch this morning and went south by the second express, ile will stay at Dunedin this evening, and to-morrow morning will receive a deputation Dunedin in regard to the stopping of the l.awrencc-Koxburgh Railway. In the evening he will present prizes h connection with the Associated Hoard of .Music. On Thursday he will go to Taieri, and-will be present at a social gathering at Mosgiel in honour of the Hon. X. McKonzie in the evening, lie will be at JnverCargill on Friday, and on Saturday evening in that city lie will deliver an inijiortant speech, lie will remain in the south until Tuesday, and on loat day will return to Christehurch, where he'will be present at a social gathering to Mr. W. M. Turner. On Tuesday evening he will leave for Wellington. He refused to be interviewed in ChristI church, except in regard to the reorganisation of the Agricultural Department, saying he would deal wun all prominent public questions in his Inver-cm-nill speech.
