TRADE OUTLOOK

-A COOU TIME.AIIKAD." By Telegraph.—l'ress Association. Auckland, Monday.. '•Trad,, generally is in n much-improv-ed condition throughout -New Zt-iilamt, Hays tliu manager oi a wholesale linn (loin-' business all over the Dominion. •■ln the provinces there is a generally improved tone, the season has been a good one hot'h from a pastoral, agncltllural, and dairying standpoint, and the time of monetary stress seems to lie pretty well over. Thi* applies to tho e d'stricts where rural pursuits are followed, but our travellers report to us that there is little or no improvement in the mining towns. The reason for this is hard to ascribe, but it is nevertheless a fact there is no doubt that conditions all along have been better in Auckland than in any other part of the Dominion. We have endless applications from the south asking to find positions in I'he Auckland province, which shows conclusively what the P°sition is in the southern centres. So, wen if 'We have not been getting all we want in this province, we at least know that we are better oil' in Auckland than thev are in the south." Another merchant says: "In my opinion we have come to the bottom of things. There i« no doubt that we have been right down on commercial bedrock for some time past, but we are now on the turn of the tide, and our imr.rmation from every quarter justifies the prediction that there is a good time ahead. There has been a proline season in all parts of the Dominion, and the markets are holding their own, so that the financial position throughout the 1 country is satisfactory."
