A QUEER CASE. B» Telegraph.-Fress Association. ' Chri6khurch,-Last Night. Ernest Hancock and William Hutchinson, young men, where charged a„ the Magistrate's Court with assaulting and rohhing Henry John Lawrence, of AsbDUrtcm Falls, of £OS in money and a cheque for £22 10s on April 13. The evidence was that whilst returning from Kiccarton races in a public drag, the two accused rilled Lawrences pocket, the others in the drag not interfering, though Lawrence screamed when accused robbed him. Both were committed for trial. : COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Wellington. Last Night. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, Charles Leonard Buchanan, a young man, said to be a jockey, was committed •for trial on a charge of attempting to commit an offence on a girl under sixtccu.
