IMPORTANT APPEAL CASE.
3y Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Appeal Court is engaged hearing the case Commissioner of Stamps versus McDonal and others, in which is involved the (jiiestiou whether bequests to the Salvation Army are exempt from succession duty. The late Samuel Wilson, of Duncdin, left £IO,OOO to the Army, on which duty is claimed under the Act of 11)01, which provides bequests for the benefit of he public shall not pay duty. Judge Williams decided in the Army's favor, and the appeal is from this decision. Mr. IJosking is appearing for the appellant and Mr. Adams for respondent. The argument is unfinished.
