The conditions were i seven shots each at .10(1 and liOll yards , ranges. At the 500yd> range some splendid shooting was done. .1. Shepherd put on Ihe possible, and J. Uothcty ' an ail-but- When the competitors went down at the liOyds it was getting dark, and some of the shootists had to shoot practically ill the dark, whilst others were unable, to lire. They were the first company to appear in the new hall, and appear well satisfied with the business done. A man named Ivor Asplund had rather an exciting experience on Friday morning. He was driving his milk-cart up towards -Mr. Colnier's blacksmith's shop, when the lmrse took fright and hacked the cart over a bank, with Hie result, that tin- carl capsized and .Mr. Aspliimi was tlirowu nut. lie. however, escaped with a severe shaking. The curt was considerably damaged. A number of settlers about here inlend installing milking machines during the winter in readiness for next season. WAIiEA.
