FIRES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Stratford, Wednesday. A fire at midnight gutted the shops ot C. h. Hyde, bootmaker, and Coles, music warehouse. Tie stock of S. Pahey, tobacconist, adjoining, was damaged by smoke and water. The insurances on the buildings, which are owned by E. S. Cole, Auckland, are £4OO in the United. Hyde's stock and fittings are insured for £305 in the Sun ollice. Fancy's stock, furniture and fittings for £2OO, ako in the Sun office. Cole's insurance is not knowa to thu local manager.
