RETIREMENTS AND NEW APPOINTMENTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, April 3. In the Prisons Department the following officers will retire:—LieutenantColonel Hume (inspector), .Messrs. Cleary (gaoler at Lyttelton), Bratley (gaoler at Dunedin), Armstrong (gaoler at Wellington), Flannery (gaoler at .Napier), Warder Chilton (Dunedin), and Warder Nicholson (Lyttelton). The following new appointments have been made:—Dr. Hay, Inspector 01 Prisons; Gaoler Millington, New Plymouth, to be gaoler at Wellington; Gaoler Ironside, Hokitika, to be gaoler at Lyttelton; Gaoler Scanlon, Wanganui, to be gaoler at Dunedin; Chief Warder Coyle, Wellington, to be gaoler and manager of the Reformatory Prison at New Plymouth; Chief Warder Gideon, Auckland, to be gaoler at Napier; Principal Warder Glover, Dunedin, to be chief warder at Dunedin; Principal Warder Matchford, Lyttelton, to lie chief warder at Wellington; Principal Warder Hawkins, New Plymouth, to be chief warder at Auckland; Principal Warder McMurray, Auckland, to be chief warder at Lyttelton.
