A FRAUDULENT NATIVB. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, April 3. Tamahi Wirihana was sentenced to fix months imprisonment for obtaining money from various people by representing himself as' a relative of Mrs. U. V. Donnelly, of Hawke's Bay. He had already been imprisoned for forgery.
SUGGESTED CO-OPERATIVE FREEZING WORKS.
Palmerstou N., Saturday Night. The annual meeting of the l'aimerston Branch of the Farmers' Union wa» lield to-day. The question of co-opera-tive freezing works for Wellington province was further discussed, ine ciiairInan (Jlr. Balsillie) queried whether the farmers would take the matter up and »vork it on business lines. If the suggested co-operative works failed to eomJiete for the stock coming in other companies might boycott the shareholders. Sir. Jlaule said farmers getting a higher price from a private company would desert the co-operative. Men would need to be bound down to support the cooperative works. Mr. Wingate said success depended on the present funds and future management. The matter was suspended till further information has been obtained. Messrs. Balsillie and Wingate were appointed delegates to the meeting at Woodville on Wednesday.
