By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. A charge against a young woman named Kathleen llogan of concealment of birth was dismissed by Mr. ltiddell, S.M, who held that no jury would convict on the evidence adduced.
A PROHIBITED IMMIGRANT. Wellington, Wednesday. Regarding the ease of the man Baldwin, who was refused permission to land at Lyttelton, the Hon. Hogg, 'Minister of Customs, states that the case has been before the Customs Department 'for the past two years, and that the present Minister and his predecessor had both refused the man permission to land. The man's relatives were neither able nor willing to maintain him, and the permission would not be granted without execution of the bond required by section 4 of the Immigration Restriction Act. AX ELTHAM CASE. William Albert Hansen,, formerly employed by the Elthani County Council as forman of the south riding, -was charged at the Elthani S.M. Court yesterday with having obtained from the Elthani County Council the sum of £lO lls Sid. Accused formally pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court at Wellington.
