ALLEGED IXCEXDIATtISM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmcrstou N., Friday. At the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court to-ilav. Frederick llnpe, a porter at the lioyal Hotel, was charged with attempting to burn down the hotel. Accused was remanded for a week. ' ALUKIIrID ILLEtiAIj DISTILL-INU. Wellington, I'ridav. .Maurice .loliu Collins" and Thoiuas Matthew'., were charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day, Hie former with unlawfully making" .spirits and .Maflliewis with 'being found on premises where illicit distilling wan being carried on. A remand till Monday was granted, bail lieing allowed .in two sureties of £SO each.
