The .Supreme Court "was to-day occupied with the hearing of tin? charge against William Brewer, aged 'ill years, of stealing 44 head o'f cattle, the property of Richard Kecne and .lames Reiil, from Runanga station. The jury returned a verdict of guilty., with a strong •recommendation to mercy, the foreman adding that the jury thought that to some extent prisoner 'had been led liv Samuel' Beswick, formerly manager of the station, who is now serving sentence for stealing eattle from the property in (question. Sentence, in Brewer's fcase was deferred.
