A tmiart arrest was cll'eeted by Doteitives UoHis and Scott at Freeman's Bay shortly before midnight, resulting in tlie recovery of a quantity of stol'.'ii jewellery and the discovery of a large collection of liowso-breakrag implements'. .The subject of arrest was a young linin named Frank Mahcr. The'detccth'es found upon his person a quantity of jewellery, which is alleged to coiHHfct him with, several large 'burglaries in the city. A search of the mail's dwelling resulted in the liiuliiig of a large quantity of housebreaking tools, including skeleton keys, files, 'batteries, 'wired, revolvers, and a flashlight, ami further jewellery valued at £0(1, the latter bemg recovered 'from the eliimney.
