ALLEGED OVERWORK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, March 13. The Public School Headmasters' Association has adopted a report protesting ngainst the uses to which primary schools | have been put out for display purposes, i The report submits that tiwhevi, have] been overworked by extra i:i-:.s, which i have no proper place in llie right education of youth, and sonic »f llie duties imposed on teachers on occasions arc repugnant. _ ' As a practical outcome of the Association's deliberations it is hoped, concludes the report, that local bodies, the Government, Education Hoards and entertaining committees on public occasions will cease making demands as a mere matter nf course on the pupils of public schools. The teachers should he free to withhold their assistance according as the occasion commends itself to them or not. No woman should be expected at any time to undertake school duties outside the school grounds by way of spectacular displays.
