WASOANCI. By lelegnaph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The retiring Licensing Committee was te-elected unopposed to-day. EGJIONT. Eltham, Last Night. The five candidates selected at the conference of the License and No-license Parties have been returned unopposed for the Egmont Licensing Committee, thus avoiding the expense of a contest. DUNEDIN. Dunedin, Last Night. 1 Owing to reduction having been carried at the local option polls in Dunedin City, Dunedin ■ South, and Chalmtjfe keen interest is likely to be taken in the licensing committee election next week. For Dunedin City the retiring members have been nominated, and also five other candidates on behalf of the no-license party. In Dunedin South fiye candidates have been nominated by i-"' no-license party and also three indejpendents. At Chalmers nine candidates Jiave been nominated. In Taieri a compromise has been arrived at and no election will be necessary.

AUCKLAND. ' i Auckland, Last Night. Fifteen candidates have been nominated for Auckland City licensing election, omnn-Iv, Messrs' G. Aitken, W. J. Rees, P. C.'Cheal, M. Casey, and A. Kosscr (retiring committee), L. J. Bagnall J. 31. Menine, J. J. Holland, W. C. Sowers, Dr. F. W. King (Citizens' League ticket), J. J. Jainieson, G. W. Davies, W. Richardson, J. Patterson, arid Mrs. Emily Nicliol. The old committee are being supported by the no-license party, and it is understood that the Trade will support the Citizen's League tickf t. ASUBURTOX. Ashburton. Last Night. As there are only five nominations & poll is not necessary for the Licensing Committee. Although the district is under no-license, the Committee ;■> •required to administer the Act until June 30 next on account of six licensed houses existing in the Geraldiue portion of the electorate, which was added to •Ashburton by the Boundary Commissioners.
