FATAL FIRE ON A STEAMER
Buenos Ayrcs, February 23. Forty deaths were occasioned bv the 1 residente Koca disaster. The steamer Prcsidentc Hoca, a steel screiv vessel of 2807 tons, owned by the ilaiuburg-South America Company* and ■employed in- the trade between Buenos Ayrcs and Southern Argentine ports took lire, and all efforts to cope with the (lames proved unavailing. Finally the steamer had to be abandoned, anil sank. There were 370 persons on board of her at the time.
