It had no head cm, and.from the coat worn the remains appeared- to be those of one ol the steward., of the Penguin. The bodies will oe brought in to Wellington overland io-iiiorruw. .Neither have been identi■ied so lar.
THE ENQUIRY. Wellington, Last Night. The enquiry into the Penguin disaster «-a> continued to-day, and was unlinish.•d when the Court'rose. The evidence was largely technical, dealing with the tides and currents prevailing in Co"* Strait, and with the course set by t'apt. Baylor on the night of the, disaster, which master mariners., who were examined, generally agreed was a safe one As tu the lowering of the boats, the evidence indicated that members of the crew did not take up their allotett stations at particular boats, but assisted generally. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr Myers said when an accideut happened in Cook Strait it was invariably attributed to abnormal current!.
