Another of the old veterans of TaraI naki joined his father!* yesterday, in the person of Mr. William Marshall, of Inglewood. Deceased served in the Taranaki wars as servant in Xo. 2 Company. The death is announced at Coventry .(England) of Mr George Ni'.iger, a pioneer of the cycle trade. Deceased was taken ill whilst at dinner, and expired a few hours later. lie was head of the Singer Cycle and Motor Companies. From a workmen he rose to be mayor of the city of Coventry. Mr Singer founded the great Coventry firm about 1874, and made it one of the biggest cycle manufacturing business in j the world.
