; TOE FIRST EXPRESS SOUTH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 13. The first train of the regular express through servicfe on the .Main Trunk railway left at 9.15 on Sunday night with about 200 passengers, a large proportion being returning excursionists.
I THE NORTHERN EXPRESS. Wellington, February 15. The first train from this end tu go over the Main Trunk line in commencement of the regular service left at 11.45 a.m., as per time-table. There wepninety lirstclass passengers and 1311 second-class. Forty liad sleeping berths and more wanted them. THE SLEEPING CARS. Taihape, February 15. The .first through express arrived herefrom Auckland forty minutes late. The {passengers in tho " sleepers" speak well of their night's trip. • FORMAL OPENING. Auckland, Last Night. The section of the North Auckland Main Trunk, which links up Wellsford /with Auckland, was formally opened by ithe Minister of Public Works (Mr. R. McKenzie) to-day.
