ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A CASE OE 6UICIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Eltham, February IS. Alexander McLean, aged 44, a married man and a member of the firm of McLean Bros., contractors for the new Eltham butter factory, was missing from here since Friday. His body was found this morning on the Dank of the Waingongoro. A pocket knife was in his hand and his jugular was cut. Deceased bad suffered from insomnia. The indications point to suicide.
ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED. Wsstport, February 15. Peter Langwell, aged 22, wharf "labourer, went into a rcces6 opening into the river at 4,30 p.in. on Tuesday last, and was not again seen about. His boifjv, was recovered from the river this morning. He apparently fell through the opening and struck his head on a beam of timber. Deceased had a mark on his forehead. Westport, Last Night. At an'inquest to-night a verdict that deceased, Peter Langwell, met his death by drowning in the Duller River, was returned. There was nothing to show how he came to fall into the river. Deceased, who worked as a coal-trimmer at the wharves, was i'i years old.
