ON THE WEST COAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Westport, January 25. Very wet weather is being experienced. The Duller River is in heavy Hood. The Union Company's steamer Arahura is detained in the roadstead. EROSION AT REEI'TO.X. Hecfton, January 25. A further Hood in the river resulted in the washing away of another slice of ground at Rosstown. Last night's fresh broke oil' ground for eight feet inside of private fences. This sections belonging to the Justice Department are seriously threatened; also the Anglican vicarage and other properties. NELSON BATHS SMASHED. Nelson, January 25. A heavy sea yesterday morning smashed the timbering of the marine baths on one side, and, rising within the structure, partially wrecked the other wall. Last night's gale and sea practically demolished the structure. Heavy rain fell and all the rivers are flooded.

HEAVY IUIX IN CANTERBURY. Christehureh, Last Night. The Tourist Agent was advised this morning from the Henley that three indies of ruin had fallen during the last, twenty-four hours, and that it was still raining. The river was very high The probabilities are that conch passengers from the West Toast will not get through to-day. The rainfall for the twenty-four hours up to 9.30 a.m. to-day. as recorded at the observatory, was 0.902 inches.
