NAUTIGIL enquiry, I By Telegraph,—Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. A nautical emjuirv in reference to tliu Joss of tiie scow Kia Ora at> Kawau and the drowning of three men was continued to-day. An attempt was made to discredit the evidence given hv Cosset, the sole survivor, as to the captain and crew having dung to a rock tor seven hours, but lie adhered to his story.
alter Macklov, one of the owners of the Kia Ora, deposed that the master of the vessel (Piercy) was addicted to drink, and that lie was several times warned and once discharged for t'liat reason, but Ciossctt persisted in the statement that the crew were sober.
