FIRES.
FOLl! BIJLWIXC.'S DESTROYED. By Telegraph.--Press Association. Dargaville. Tuesdav. About midnight last night a tire' at Aoroa. near Dargavillc, completely dcstioyed the local hall, a boardinghousc Occupied by Thompson and owned by Lriwiley, and ;i cottage occupied l>v Lowe and owned by the .Mitchelson Timber Company. Jn order to prevent the spread of the lire another cottage was demolished.
The insurances are not yet available. The damage was very considerable.
CHEMICAL FACTORY DESTROYED.
Auckland, Tuesday. A lire in Kenderdine and Kirk'np's chemical factory at Freeman's Bay damaged the buildings and stock to the 'extent of several hundred pounds, The building was insured for £OSO in the National office and ,£3SO in the Northern. The stock was insured for ;CJOUO in tire Norwich Union.
