Ihe Northern Jjowlmg Association's champion fours tournament was continued on the .Napier ami Ureenuieadows greens to-day. The morning wad gloomy, but the sky cleared shortly after play commenced, and the remainder of the day was beautifully tine. On Ihe Napier Club's greea*J!liiir Kill met \ ietoria, and for a time it looked as if tile local men were destined to sillier their first defeat. The scon; was: V ictoria 10 and lllull' Hill 4 on the eighth head. Mull' Hill then scored on every head till the 'nineteenth, when thev had 21 to their credit, Victoria still standing at 10. Victoria scored one on the 20th, but Bluff Hill won the linal head, winning by 22 to 11. Stratford had an easy win over Waipawa, scoring 31 to 14. Turangauui and Petane played an interesting game till the thirteenth head, the score then being Hi nil. Tn-

Greytown and Masterton were 10 each on the seventeeth head, but llasterton won tlie remaining heads and the game by 17 to 10. Farndon defeated Kelburne by 23 to 10. In the fifth round GreeTiineadows meL a signal defeat at the hands of Feilding by 37 to 13. Waipawa defeated Wuvor" lev by 17 to lli after a close game. Kelburne defeated Ilanaia by 21 to 12, having tlie advantage right through.' Stratford were defeated by I'ahiatua by 27 to 12, the winners being' alwavs in the van. A close light between Victoria and Petane resulted in favor of Victoria by 11) to 18. Kemuera triumphed over Turangamii by 23 to 20 after a close and interesting game. Good gaiuesl were also witnessed between I'ahiatua (21) and Eltham (18), Farndon (20) and Greytown (19), and Wellington (17) and t Karori (10). In. tlie Wangaimi-Master-ton match scores were 13 each on the fifteenth bead, and on the I'Jth Masterton were 22 to Wanganui's 21. Wanganui put on six ia the remaining heads and won by 27 to 22. Gisborne beat Dsinnevirke by 20 to 14 after leading from the ninth head in the sixth round. Wellington and Masterton played a most exciting game, Wellington scoring one on the last head and winning by 10 to 15. Greenmeadows disposed of Karori by 34 to 11. Turanganui suffered defeat by 27 to 17 in their game with El- , tham. Kelburne beat Gisborae by 22 . to 10 after an interesting game. Waipawa beat I'ihanta after an uphill game by 24 to 19. Greytown defeated Mnnaia by 28 to 18. Dannevirke made fair start against Feilding, but were subsequently beaten by 20 to 14. Wav- i erley scores a hollow victory over I'ahiatua by 25 to 10. Muff Hill won on the : last head from Petane by 24 to 23. I Farudon were outclassed by Wavct'lcy, : who won by 38 to 12. '' |'
On the Greenineadows green there were several excellent games. Napier beat St. John's by 22 to" IS; Carlton ■beat Havelock by 21 to 18; Napier beat Havelock by 23 to 18; Havelock beat Newtown by 22 to 21; and Napier beat Hastings by 18 to 17. The game between Carlton and Havelock was the best of the day. On the fourteenth head Carlton led by 14 to 13. On the sixteenth the score was even, and on the mneteeth Havelock led by 18 to 17. Carlton scored two oil the twentieth and on the last head, when Havelock were lying short, Carlton came up and wrested the lying bowl and carried the kitty and left them lying two, thus winning the match.
