With reference to the claim made n behalf of Olaf Halinan and the lato Anders Andovs'ea for compensation in respect of their false conviction of the manslaughter of Burke, the Minister of Justice has intimated that, "Tho matter has received the careful consideration of the Government and he re grots that the Government is unable to recognise any claim for compensation or payment in connection therewith." The matter will probably be the subject of a strong local petition.
